Iran-born Kassai, 29, uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to verify a person’s identity using just a photograph of an ID document and a selfie. His tech is used in a wide variety of situations, ranging from customers at Monzo banks to Uber drivers. In 2017, Onfido secured £22m from backers including Microsoft and Salesforce.
