To travel is also to learn that nature is closer than we think, although sometimes we need to move away in order to see the bigger picture.

Many wonders can make us think about the power of nature, but nothing like the sea can depict its hybrid soul: unresting, like the perpetual flow of its waves, but also capable of make us fly.

To fly on water: this is what the writer and the photographer of our Stories of Audacity did in this second leg, thanks to the Maserati Multi70 trimaran and Giovanni Soldini.

Almost defiantly, the northern part of the island rises from plains cultivated with olive trees and vegetables. Meter after meter, it clings to itself like a cyclist uphill.

THE PORT

In the new part of the capital there’s a non-commercial port that hosts those who choose to sail.

THE GUIDE, THE SAILOR, THE JOURNEY. YOU.

Giovanni Soldini has an open, loud laugh that bursts like a blitz, only to quickly become serious.

THE DEPARTURE

The departure is by motor. If you are following the Sailor who has taken the land route, you are heading towards the imperious red crest of the island.

SOUND

Thanks to the car’s technology, every deceleration or braking is an accumulation of energy, and when you gain speed on the trimaran, (the waves are like the curves of the mountains of Palma)...

Whether at sea or on land, speed is a vocation, and how to achieve speed is the commitment of entire lives.
