Modena, 3 April 2023 – The new Maserati GranTurismo will be the Trident’s hero at the 2023 Milan Design Week, an annual international celebration of design attracting one of the most cosmopolitan and kaleidoscopic audiences in the world. An unmissable event for those who have made the most refined, beautiful and essential design their hallmark, and for those – like Maserati – who can count among its products a timeless icon, the first car the brand has ever made that also comes in a 100% electric version.

Three original GranTurismo One Offs from the Maserati Fuoriserie Programme will be split between real and virtual, whereas the exclusive Granturismo Special Edition 75th Anniversary – exclusively created for that milestone – will add a further touch of exclusivity to the selection designed to enhance the long-distance sports car par excellence.

The GranTurismo One Off Prisma and the GranTurismo One Off Luce, with the Nettuno V6 internal combustion engine and in the full-electric Folgore version respectively, will be juxtaposed with the intrepid inspiration of Hiroshi Fujiwara, an eclectic friend of the Trident, pioneer of streetwear and author of his own interpretation of the high-performance coupé. The Japanese artist will unveil a Digital One Off alongside a bespoke capsule collection, made specifically for Design Week.

The GranTurismo One Off Prisma is dedicated to the heritage of this glorious car, as a proud expression of its past and the brand's ability to go further. The bodywork comes with a chromatic partnership consisting of 14 different colours. Two of them look ahead to the future, whilst the other twelve have been selected from the hues of the most popular GranTurismo models of the past, such as the characteristic Amaranto from the 1947 Maserati A6 1.500, and the Oro Longchamps that brightened the 1973 Maserati Khamsin.

The outfit of this extraordinary One Off is embellished with details of more than 8,500 letters hand-applied, making up the names of Maserati cars, creating a second level of shade and harmonising the entire colour coating, all painted by hand.

The GranTurismo One Off Luce is a statement of innovation and sustainability that literally reflects Maserati’s experimentation and constant research. The outfit of this wonderful interpreter of the future is an original chromatic mirrored monolith, engraved with a dynamic laser-etched pattern and painted in an almost absent colour that makes the contours of the car blend into its surroundings.  The interiors are a hymn to the future, made of ECONYL® as its only material. This regenerated nylon yarn results in a unique aesthetic metamorphosis and is combined with laser processing that expresses dynamism, the same as in the dashboard and panels. Widely used in fashion, “high frequency” printing technology is employed to produce a transparent colour that enhances the play of light and emphasises the car's modern spirit.

Klaus Busse, Head of Design at Maserati, stated: “GranTurismo Prisma is an ode to our 75-year heritage and to the know-how that has imbued all the cars Maserati has made over time. GranTurismo Luce is our future, looking ahead, in perfect balance with Prisma. The essence of each one depends on the other. In terms of innovation, Prisma expresses all the beauty and excellence of the Italian craftsmanship, as well as mastery in painting and colour; Luce reveals all the technology developed with Folgore, combining our forward-thinking attitude and Italian creativity”.

Finally, the unmistakable allure of a limited edition like the Granturismo Special Edition 75th Anniversary. Made in four unique configurations, the total of 300 units – 75 for each version with an internal combustion engine, in Grigio Lamiera and Nero Cometa colours, and 75 for the electric Folgore version, in Rame Folgore and Blu Inchiostro hues – celebrates the quintessence of Italian luxury in terms of performance and stands as a testament to an ideal balance between beauty and functionality, without ostentation.

The refined masterpieces, on four wheels or digital, embody Maserati’s legacy projected into the future and represent Hiroshi Fujiwara’s visionary homage to the Trident. On April 19th, they will be on display at the new Maserati store in the heart of Milan’s elegant Magenta district for a private preview for selected guests, while on April 20th design-savyy visitors and car enthusiasts will be able to experience them up close and personal.
