MCXtrema at the MIR 2025
Spa-Francorchamps, September 12, 2025 – The occasion was the Maserati International Rally (MIR) 2025, the annual gathering that brings together Brand enthusiasts from all over the world. An extraordinary journey that brought together 100 Maserati models spanning every era between September 10 and 13, weaving through the countryside roads of the Ardennes and the epic Spa-Francorchamps track—widely regarded as the ultimate “university” of motorsport.
For this occasion, the MCXtrema wore the same livery it had showcased a few months earlier, when it tackled the historic corners of Eau Rouge and Raidillon as the official Leading Car of the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa. This special livery pays clear homage to the MC12, celebrating the 20th anniversary of its first victory at the 24 Hours of Spa in 2005, achieved by the Vitaphone team with Michael Bartels, Timo Scheider, and Eric van de Poele. That triumph was followed by further victories in 2006 (Michael Bartels, Andrea Bertolini, Eric van de Poele) and 2008 (Michael Bartels, Andrea Bertolini, Stéphane Sarrazin, Eric van de Poele).
Characterized by an elegant black-and-blue contrast, the design recalls the iconic colors of the multi-title-winning MC12 GT1 fielded by Vitaphone Racing, which secured three wins and two runner-up finishes on this circuit. The personalized details of the livery include a striking trident on the hood and a dynamic interplay of lettering (blue on black) on the doors and rear sides. The typography features the names of Maserati’s most iconic models, legendary drivers, and the international circuits where the Modena-based car manufacturer has triumphed.
Maserati International Rally 2025 (MIR)
From September 10 to 13, 2025, the Belgian Ardennes hosted the annual celebration of Maserati cars of all eras. In the historic town of Durbuy—set along the River Ourthe and famously known as the smallest city in the world—enthusiasts took part in a spectacular rally. The event featured exhilarating track sessions, convivial gatherings, and the renowned parade along the region’s scenic roads, with Spa as a highlight stop. The entire program was steeped in the values of performance, innovation, and audacity that have defined nearly a century of Maserati in racing. Indeed, it was in 1926 when the Tipo 26—the very first car to wear the Trident on its hood—won the Targa Florio with Alfieri Maserati at the wheel.
The highlight of the 2025 edition of the MIR came on Thursday, September 11, with a full day dedicated to the legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. MCXtrema took center stage in its natural habitat: the track.
At midday, the circuit hosted the spectacular Maserati Parade, where historic icons and contemporary models of the Trident shared the stage in a breathtaking display.
At the Maserati International Rally 2025, the MCXtrema—in its celebratory livery—rekindled the spirit of the legendary MC12, once again bringing the magic of an unforgettable racing history at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.
