Ermenegildo Zegna and Maserati Celebrate the Launch of the Maserati Quattroporte Zegna Limited Edition

As part of the celebration in Dubai, Mr. Ermenegildo Zegna, CEO of the Ermenegildo Zegna Group, and Mr. Harald J. Wester, CEO of Maserati, were joined by over 500 guests to honour the partnership between the two brands, both masters in craftsmanship and leaders of Italian excellence. The launch of the Maserati Quattroporte Zegna Limited Edition is a result of a three-year partnership agreement signed between Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Fiat Group, and Gildo Zegna, CEO of Ermenegildo Zegna Group in 2013.
The Maserati Quattroporte Limited Edition by Ermenegildo Zegna has been produced in a limited run of 100 sedans. Clients also benefit from a unique collection of accessories by Zegna, specially designed for each Maserati. Moreover, Maserati has recently confirmed the launch of a new Ermenegildo Zegna interior package, which will be available as an option for the Quattroporte and Ghibli from end of 2015.
The Maserati Quattroporte Zegna Limited Edition boasts a special finish in terms of colour, materials and trim, carefully chosen to embody all the personality, quality and exclusivity that link the histories and traditions of the Maserati and Zegna brands. The exterior is finished in Platinum Silk, a colour developed exclusively for this Limited Edition. The interior cabin is finished in brand new, warm and classical “Moka” colors - a modern Testa di Moro dark brown and “Greige”, a delicate fusion of light grey and sabbia. The result conveys a formal, sophisticated character through a combination of leather and silk inspired by the fabrics of the Zegna menswear collections. The precious Ermenegildo Zegna fabrics were specially created for this unique car. The challenge was the development of a “Zegna” automotive fabric that has the same sensuous feel as the brand's traditional fabrics, enveloping passengers like designer suits.
The dedicated Owner’s Collection designed by Ermenegildo Zegna exclusively for Maserati, incorporates iconic details of the car and showcases the elegance and craftsmanship that is synonymous with the two Italian brands. The finest raw materials, such as fine-grain calf leather and ZegnaSilk, were selected in the creation and fabrication of each element in the 19-piece collection. The offering includes travel bags (Weekender, Carry-all, Garment Bag, and Trolley) leather, textile and metal accessories as well as a bolt of the same ZegnaSilk herringbone fabric used in the interior of the car.
With the Maserati Quattroporte Zegna Limited Edition and Owner’s Collection centre stage, clients, celebrities and journalists were able to discover its unique details and experience first-hand the extraordinary result of this partnership between two of Italy’s leading luxury brands. Guests including H.E. Mr. Giorgio Starace, Ambassador of Italy to the UAE, H.E. Mr. Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, Director of Al Tayer Motors, and Mr. Khalid Al Tayer, Chief Executive Officer of Retail at Al Tayer Group were present to view the collaboration up-close.
Both brands also collaborated with world renowned Italian photographer Fabrizio Ferri for the event. Over two days Ferri photographed 25 prominent regional personalities and craftsmen including Dr. Sager Almualla (Surgeon), Faisal J. Abbas (Writer, Author and Screenwriter), Khulood Thani (Fashion and Turban Designer), Khalid Albudoor (Arabic Poet), Eisa Al Dah (Boxer), Malika Omar (Pianist), Mohammed Saeed Harib (Animator), Nadine Kanso (Jewellery Designer), Mohammed Faisal (Goalkeeper) and Huda Kattan (Makeup Artist) who were selected for using their hands as key instruments of their trade.
The images will be compiled to create the book ‘One of 100’, which will showcase the photographs from all four events across the world. The book will highlight the relationship between the details of the hands and those of the Maserati Quattroporte Zegna Limited Edition. Using the theme of “handmade” as the common value of both brands, the project emphasizes artisanship, innovation and excellence. ‘One of 100’ will be presented at the final event in Milan this year. All proceeds from the sale of the book will go towards supporting the restoration of the Fountain of Neptune, a monumental civic fountain located in the famed Piazza Nettuno in Bologna, Italy, and the inspiration for Maserati’s renowned Trident logo.
