On September 26th we had the chance to come together, work as a team, and give back to the community that welcomes and hosts us every day. Maserati colleagues joined a volunteering day in collaboration with Caritas, supporting the cultural festival 'Movimenti fra Culture' held at Parco XXII Aprile in Crocetta, one of Modena’s most vibrant and multicultural neighborhoods.
Guided by our Caritas references, Ciro and Sara, the day began with a short introduction round, where our colleagues shared their expectations and feelings before diving into the activities. Then, divided into groups, everyone joined forces with local residents: some worked alongside women from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Bangladesh and Cameroon to prepare traditional dishes; others collaborated with local teenagers on creative decorations; while additional groups supported with the setup of stands, seating, and tables for the event, creating a welcoming space that felt like home for everyone who wished to join. This was more than just volunteering: it was a true exchange of traditions, stories, and experiences. A moment to connect across cultures, celebrate diversity, and discover how differences, when embraced, can become a driver for real change.
At the end of the day, both our colleagues and the community members reflected on the experience: how even in just a few hours, new connections were built, perspectives shifted, and a stronger sense of belonging and ownership was created. Many colleagues chose to stay into the evening, enjoying the festival atmosphere, sharing a meal with new friends, and continuing to lend a hand with the preparations. It was a meaningful moment to value the territory we are part of, strengthen our bonds, and contribute together to something larger than ourselves.
