Description
For the second series, the model now simply called Sebring received a restyling that featured a new front end with chrome surrounds for the twin-round headlights, a new hood intake, and side vents located higher up on the front fenders. The new taillights were reminiscent of those on the Quattroporte, creating a strong identity for the brand. The choice of a larger 3.7-liter or 4.0-liter engine sourced from the Maserati Mistral coupe significantly improved the performance of the 2+2 Sebring. Sales of the Sebring began to taper off after 1967 with the launch of the new Ghibli, and in 1969 the last Sebring was produced, for a total of 598 examples of both series combined. Sebring customers of the day included a rising star in the world of opera, Luciano Pavarotti, and Austrian crystal glass tycoon Adrian Swarovski.
