Like Mario Umberto Borzacchini, who in 1929 set the Class C world record at the wheel of Maserati’s 16-cylinder V4, at a speed of 246 km/h. Or the many mavericks who have followed to leave an indelible mark on the world of motorsports, such as Maria Teresa de Filippis.

THE 250F

With its long nose and squat tail, the 250F has been described as one of the most beautiful single seaters ever built. Launched to stardom shortly after its reveal, it debuted at the Argentine Grand Prix in 1954 where Juan Manuel Fangio clinched a glorious win. In 1958, it was the pioneering Maria Teresa de Filippis to set a new kind of record at its wheel.

DEFYING EXPECTATIONS

There’s a moment in time where impossible becomes possible. At just 22 years old, Maria Teresa de Filippis made her grand entrance in the world of racing, leaving her male colleagues in the dust. Victory after victory, she continued challenging convention all the way up to 1958, the year she became the first woman to compete in Formula 1. Her racer of choice for the occasion: the Maserati 250F. With Maserati, de Filippis felt like she could do anything, and that she did.

ENERGIZING COLOR

The Levante and Ghibli F Tributo Special Editions are available in Arancio Devil and Grigio Lamiera: two vibrant and contemporary colours that embody the riveting connection Maria Teresa de Filippis had with the track. This unique “Arancio” (orange) symbolizes the invigorating enthusiasm of de Filippis’ intrepid career and gets its name from her nickname: the “she-devil”. “Grigio” (gray) is instead a nod to the track, the environment where she and many audacious Maserati drivers thrived at unprecedented speeds, and where we have proudly returned.

LOUD AND CLEAR

The Special Edition’s performance-driven soul exposes itself in a handful of distinctive details. The F Tributo badge on the fender and the C-Pillar Saetta logo boldly contrast with the Arancio body colour in bright blue or orange accents against the Grigio detailing. The colour accents continue on the 21” alloy wheels, a striking tribute to one of racing’s most determined women.
