Course: Cowes (UK) – Dinard (FR), distance 138 nautical miles. The current record – officially validated by the World Sailing Speed Record Council (WSSRC) – is 4 hours, 48 minutes and 57 seconds. It was set in September of 2015 and it belongs to the trimaran Phaedo3 (LOA/ft: 70, LOA/m: 21.34) – which is now inactive – with owner and skipper Lloyd Thornburg and Brian Thompson (USA/GBR). Giovanni Soldini and Maserati Multi 70 accepted the challenge and will
