Gareth Williams, Barry Smith and Bonamy Grimes

The three Manchester University graduates founded the travel search engine in 2001, after Williams struggled to compare airline prices for a skiing trip. The Edinburgh-based company employs more than 500 people. Late last year, it agreed a £1.4bn sale to Chinese travel giant Ctrip. The deal will provide an estimated windfall of £400m for Williams, 48, Smith, 43, and Grimes, 45.
