Its steep grades, fast straights and outlook over the cliffs to Bass Strait have made it a favourite among racing drivers and riders across the globe so what better place to let Maserati customers loose on the latest range to explore the true potential of man and machine.
And that’s exactly what the recent Maserati Ultimate Drive Day at Phillip Island was all about as invited guests took to the tarmac in a fleet of vehicles comprising the latest Quattroporte, Ghibli, GranTurismo, GranCabrio and Levante models.
After flying in by chopper from Melbourne directly to the race circuit, participants enjoyed a bit of morning hospitality and a safety briefing before taking to the track to undergo a series of exercises.
With expert Maserati instructors on hand, they took part in a variety of cornering, braking and handling exercises on the track and skidpan to get a feel for the potential of the cars before breaking for a sumptuous lunch.
After lunch it was time to put the lessons into practice running full laps of the 4.4km circuit before the instructors showed them how the professionals did it in some thrilling hot laps.
Owners rarely get the opportunity to truly explore the full potential of a Maserati on public roads so the Maserati Ultimate Drive Days are always eagerly anticipated.
They are held regularly throughout the year in Australia and New Zealand so to register your interest contact your local Maserati dealer.
