DESCRIPTION
The MC12 (Maserati Corse, 12-cylinder) represented Maserati in its most extreme performance form. The Stradale, or road-going version, was created to homologate the model for international GT racing. With the MC12, Maserati returned to GT racing in a highly successful campaign, making the GT1 the car to beat on race tracks all over the world. The MC12 remains the fastest Maserati road car ever made, with a top speed exceeding 205 mph. The technology of the MC12 was based on the Ferrari Enzo model, though substantial modifications were made to engine, chassis and aerodynamics. In late 2006, Maserati presented the MC12 Versione Corse, an even more extreme track-day variant of this all-conquering supercar. From 2004, only 50 models of Maserati MC12 were made.
