Maserati cars have been famed for over a century for their perfect balance of elegance and sporty prowess. Through the evolution of its design and the development of innovative technology, Maserati has inspired world-famous cars, captivated the eyes of global enthusiasts and, on the track, overcame the most demanding challenge of all: the race against time.
At the start of a new era, Maserati is paying homage to its past by creating a new programme around its most precious resource: its history.
The mission of Maserati Classiche is to safeguard and promote the cars that characterised its past through a series of dedicated services. Only the manufacturer is able to certify their authenticity and originality, and thus guarantee their historic value.
Maserati will support Collectors and Customers with a service that helps them to conserve their cars and restore them to their original splendour in every detail. A dedicated assistance plan will support the fortunate owners of Classic, Youngtimer and Special cars in all the various maintenance or restoration procedures.
The Maserati Classiche project will function alongside the Historic Archive, the Trident brand’s sancta sanctorum that conserves the documentation for every single Maserati that left the plant from the late Fifties to the present. The Historic Archive will continue its mandate of providing Collectors all over the world with the documentary material that reconstructs the car’s past, by conserving registration documents, records that recount the build of every single car, and all the essential documentation for defining the car’s Factory configuration.
The first fundamental step in this major adventure will be the Certification service; proof of authenticity and originality based on a thorough inspection of the car and cross-checking with the documentation only conserved in the Historic Archive. Every detail of the cars will be studied and verified, and thanks to the in-house skills and the aid of new technologies and historic Maserati partners, the Classiche Staff will be fully equipped for the partial or complete restoration of the cars which wrote the history of the Trident Brand.
Certification, provided by an in-house committee of experts, will be available for Maserati road cars more than 20 years old and for special editions, including recent models such as the MC12 or Quattroporte limited editions, regardless of age.
As well as the Certification plan, the Programme will offer a set of important services, provided by Maserati and tailored to the individual characteristics of the vehicles in their care, including the supply of “Classic” spare parts and restoration. The project will be launched next year in a specific area inside Maserati, at the historic Viale Ciro Menotti plant: the Nuove Officine Maserati. A unique place, where passion, style and authenticity will become tangible in the lines of the FUORISERIE® customised cars, amongst the documents and drawings reaching back over 100 years in the Historic Archive, and in the workshop where Classic cars will be certified.
