The current record – officially validated by the World Sailing Speed Record Council (WSSRC) – is 5 days, 11 hours, 57 minutes and 17 seconds. It was set in May of 2016 by Phaedo3, Lloyd Thunberg’s English MOD 70. Maserati Multi 70 previously raced against the trimaran, which is now inactive. The start is planned approximately between April and May 2020, but it will be set exactly according to the weather.
