Emanuele Smurra is back and his smile shows just how satisfied he is to be competing at his true level. He didn't win but the Roman is taking things a step at a time this year. Setting the fastest lap time in Race 2 and just missing out on a virtual fourth place will have pleased him no end.
"The race went really well" began Smurra. "Things went great from the start when I overtook two other drivers. Then I started lapping consistently fast and even posted the race's fastest lap. I really like the car and it is thrilling when you step on the gas, even though the tyres began wearing out".
This happened towards the end of the race, a phase in which the Roman went head-to-head with Paolo Necchi.
"The battle with Necchi was exciting and we overtook each other a couple of times. However, I exceeded the limit a little and so felt obliged to immediately give way". A place on the podium can wait until Brands Hatch.
