Pier Guidi on his own in qualifying

Alessandro Pier Guidi scooped both poles in Saturday morning’s qualifying sessions. He will be at the front of the grid in Race 1 (to be run today, Saturday 3 July at 16.00) and in Race 2 (Sunday at 12.50).

Pier Guidi’s performance was important as the Maserati GranTurismo MC GT4 showed it would be competitive in its first GT4 European Cup championship.

The driver from Piedmont showed that he felt at home in the new car, as proved when he set the two fastest times in Friday’s free practice sessions.

Edouard Gravereaux, in the other Maserati GranTurismo MC GT4 fielded by JMB, will line up in fourteenth in Race 1 and twelfth in Race 2.
