Third row for Ramos-Negraõ

Negraõ/Ramos performed expertly in today’s qualifying session at the wheel of the Vitaphone Racing Team Maserati MC12.

The crew was competing in the eighth round of the FIA-GT at Nogaro. Negraõ was making his first appearance at the old European track, one that is narrow and has little in the way of grip. Still, he qualified with the fifth best time, only seven tenths from Swiss driver Fässler in pole. The championship leaders will be on row five: Andrea Bertolini, with 85 kg of ballast in the car, was delayed two laps from the end by another competitor.

This meant that the Modenese driver had to be content with tenth on the grid after posting a time 1”532 off pole. The championship sees Bertolini/Bartels holding an 11 point advantage over Hezemans/Gollin’s Corvette while the Vitaphone Racing Team enjoys a 22.5 point lead over the chasing pack.
