Vosse/Biagi/Davies second after the qualifying sessions

After the qualifying sessions, Vosse/Biagi/Davies are on the front row.

Just behind them is the other MC12. The best times were set during the first qualifying session, disputed from 20.30 to 21.30, and saw the n°2 car just miss out on provisional pole with a time of 2’14”952.

This was only 81 thousandths down on Lemeret/Deletraz/Piccini/Fassler’s Aston Martin DBR9 (2’14”871). The MC12 driven by Van de Poele/Bartels/Bertolini set the third fastest time of 2’15”082. Behind them came the Aston Martin of Pescatori/Babini/Enge/Kox (2’15”754), the Corvette C6R driven by Longin/Kumpen/Hezemans/Mollekens (2’15”845) and the Saleen S7R with Bert/Janis/Montermini/Charouz on board (2’16”591).

In the second session, the MC12s were quickest on the track even though the times set were slower than those from session one. Vosse/Van De Poele/Biagi topped the timesheet with 2’15”846, while Van de Poele/Bartels/Bertolini were second in 2’17”970. The third qualifying session, held on Friday morning, did not alter the top of the classification. The MC12s are still in second and third and the drivers have high hopes for tomorrow’s race.
