Modena: Supercar territory
Maserati was one of the leading attractions at the second edition of Modena Terra di Motor held in Modena's old centre over the weekends of the March 31 - April 1, and April 7-8.

Organised by the local town council, the event was a celebration of the world of cars in general and the automobile companies based in the Modena area in particular.

On the first weekend, the town's central square, Piazza Grande, played host to the latest GTs from the companies taking part in the event, including Maserati's 3200 GT. The stars of the following weekend's exhibition in the Piazza were the Maserati Spyders.

The town's other central squares provided an attractive backdrop to the main display, with a selection of rare never-produced prototypes and speed record-breaking cars. Among the Maseratis on display was the 1991 Chubasco designed by Marcello Gandini, and the Tarf Bisiluro, the Maserati-powered prototype designed and driven by Piero Taruffi that set no fewer than 22 records.

On Sunday April 8, the Piazza Grande also saw the finals of the second edition of the Salvarola Terme Trophy Concours d'Elegance which is organised by the Ferrari Club Italia in collaboration with the Sassuolo Tourist Board and the Termi di Salvarola Spa. The cars taking part left the Spa for Modena where they drove through the Palazzo Ducale to the Piazza Grande where the winners were presented with their prizes. The participants included a 1962 Maserati 3500 GTI cabriolet.
