Unique details adorn the elegant lines, giving form to passion

The GranCabrio Sport’s beauty strikes straight to the heart. The new details that adorn the car’s lines give its elegance and style a more sporty imprint, the natural evolution, in true Maserati tradition, of the marvellous GranCabrio, the brand’s first four-seater convertible and the latest product of a rich tradition of open-top car construction.

Red trims for the most powerful

The new front bumper features two sinuous air intakes that run from the central spoiler towards the aggressive front light assembly, with its LED Daytime Running Lights. The famous radiator grille has black vertical fillets, while the usual Trident in the centre sports red details: a finishing touch only used on the most powerful models in the Maserati range.

Miniskirts to direct air flows

The standard miniskirts, available in black on request, have a pronounced shape that emphasises the exceptionally dynamic lines along the side of the car. As well as their stylistic role, these additions play an important part in the car’s aerodynamics. Combined with the shape of the mudguards, they ensure optimal air flow towards the rear wheels: an example of form serving function.

Black dominates the external trims for a tough, sporty image

The black tailpipes give the rear a racy look. Oval in shape, they make the new model unmistakable and are also available in carbon fibre on request. A black finish is also used on the line that runs around the edge of the interior in the standard Shadow Line trim. The burnished finish on the rear light assemblies is another distinguishing feature.

The new Rosso Trionfale colour emphasises the personality of the bodywork

Painstakingly designed in every detail to express power and speed, the GranCabrio Sport comes in a colour that underlines its personality: Rosso Trionfale, inspired by the national colours used by Maserati racing cars in the 50’s. The addition of the generously sized 20-inch Astro Design rims gives the car an even more aggressive, dynamic character: they are available in two shades, Silver and Grigio Antracite, a finish with a striking metallic effect.

Four open-top seats in an interior rich in classy details

The GranCabrio Sport is a real four seater, allowing all passengers to enjoy the pleasure of open-top travel. Abundant in classy details which cannot fail to impress, the GranCabrio Sport is as iconic as ever.

Trident logo embroidered on the headrests of the comfortable wraparound seats

The front seats have an electric lumbar support adjustment system and can be equipped with the optional comfort package, which includes seat position memory and heating with three temperature settings. The embroidered Trident logo on the headrests adds to the sensation of fine craftsmanship, while the rear seats, individual and contoured like those at the front, provide a personalised, comfortable environment that never loses its sporty feel.

Exquisite brushed aluminium underdoor moulding covers for added exclusiveness

Look at the dashboard mouldings: the Dark Chrome grey finish conveys a strong sense of luxury while adding to the sporty personality of the exclusive interior, with its distinctive brushed aluminium underdoor moulding covers adorned with the Maserati logo. The already wide choice of carpets and mats has been extended with the new Grigio Chrono colour, which matches the new leather upholstery.

Swift movement thanks to the sporty steering wheel and longer gear-shift paddles

Behind the new, ergonomic three-spoke steering wheel, the gear shift paddles are of Trofeo Design type (as standard on this model); integrated with the steering column, they are longer than usual to ensure smooth functioning even on the tightest of bends, with the steering wheel at any angle. The steering wheel itself is covered in leather with optional wood or carbon fibre rim inserts also available.

Perforated aluminium pedals for optimal grip on brake and accelerator

The brake and accelerator pedals are key to driving pleasure and safety; on the GranCabrio Sport the lighter pedals are in perforated aluminium, designed to meet the needs of a sporty driving style. The instrument panel has been designed according to the same principle. Perfectly visible in all conditions, it features a new digital rev counter in the middle to indicate the ideal time to shift gear.

An innovation-packed V8 that delivers high-tech thrills

The famous Maserati 4.7 litre V8 installed on the GranCabrio Sport is able to deliver 460 HP (338 kW) at 7,000 rpm and a peak torque of 520 Nm thanks to a series of innovations to optimise its operation. It was designed with important innovations to reduce friction, such as the use of DLC (Diamond-Like Coating) for the tappets and camshaft lobes.

Five gear-shift modes

The gearbox offers a choice of five operating modes: Normal, Auto Sport, Manual Normal, Manual Sport and Ice. The exclusive MC Auto Shift function included in the transmission control software makes the car even more exciting to drive in a number of ways. For example, it includes electronic double declutching during downshifting and the MC Start Strategy high-performance start function that enables the car to leap from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5 seconds.

Specific suspension setup

The GranCabrio Sport’s outstanding performance is achieved thanks to a series of special design features, such as the Sport Skyhook suspension with aluminium dampers with continual variation of the damping effect. When the driver presses the Sport key on the dashboard, the car’s character is transformed and switches to a more sporty setup specially developed for this version, intended to improve roadholding.

The braking system has drilled, slotted discs for even better performance

The Brembo braking system’s four discs are machined with four slots and sixteen blind holes around the perimeter. The slots keep the brake pads clean, preventing the loss of efficiency due to dust, and help to break up the flow of water over the surface, while the extra holes ensure uniform wear of the pads and disc to prevent the deterioration of performance over time.

The MSP stability control features specific, sportier setups

The Maserati Stability Program electronic control system features special setups for the GranCabrio Sport to deliver driving pleasure never previously achieved on a car in this category, in complete safety. When the Sport button is pressed, the MSP intervenes with even more discretion: the trigger threshold is shifted upward and the system acts mainly on the brakes, without cutting engine power.

A unique personalization program to give voice to each individual's style

Feeling at home is not something that happens by chance, especially in a car. The skilled hands of craftsmen, choice materials, meticulous finishes, luxury leather, elegance and style are all essential ingredients in this magic, but something else is required. The finishing touch that enables the driver to feel at one with his car is a unique and individual thing, different for every Maserati owner.

Combinations of colours and materials: tailor-made interiors

Inside the car, even the tiniest details can be customised: the choice of the colours of the leather upholstery, carpets and edge trims, the contrast stitching and the seat belts. The mouldings are supplied as standard in the Dark Chrome version, which combines anthracite grey with warm tones, or EcoChrome, which evokes the glow of molten metal, but are also available in fine woods or sophisticated varnished shades on request.

MC Sport Line: specific packages for top sporty performance in every area

The exclusive MC Sport Line personalization packages for this model combine the alternatives on offer with features designed to give the car a truly sporty air through a wealth of carbon fibre details. The packages include both aesthetic details and functional accessories: in both cases, these features epitomise the know-how of the Maserati Corse staff.

Wide range of bodywork colours and six soft-top shades

As well as the wide range of shades available for the exterior, including the new Rosso Trionfale and Blu Sofisticato, the soft-top fabric also comes in a choice of six colours: black, dark blue, burgundy - an elegant bordeaux -, chocolate, titanium grey and java. Inside, the soft-top comes in three colours: black, beige and beluga grey. Another exterior detail which can be customised is the internal finish of the front light assemblies, available in matt black on request.

The Chrome Line as an alternative to the Shadow Line, for more elegant bodywork

As an alternative to the standard Shadow Line version, with its use of black to enhance the car’s sporty feel, there is also the optional Chrome Line version, offering the elegance of chromed trims including the radiator grille fillets, the three air vents behind the front wheels, the handles, the tailpipes and the distinctive line running around the interior, together with a matt grey finish for the insides of the front light assemblies.
