Trofeo drivers receive their awards

10/10/2010 - Mugello
That the Trofeo Maserati differs from other series for its friendly atmosphere is confirmed by what the drivers state.

It could also be that the facts speak for themselves, as could be seen at the prize-giving ceremony held at the end of the race. The ceremony was held to celebrate not only the performances of overall champion Pietro Zumerle and GT4 winner Jonathan Sicart, but all those drivers who had done well throughout the season.

Steven Goldstein, despite his disappointment at seeing the title slip away, collected his ‘under-30’ award with a smile while Tiziano Frazza, who shared the drive with newly-crowned champion Zumerle in the first two rounds, claimed the ‘over-50’ drivers’ award.

On a sportier note, Peter Sundberg took the title for the best poleman and driver with the most number of wins. Without a doubt, the Swede was the best driver in the series, combining talent, speed and sporting loyalty to tactical intelligence. Still, the evening was centred on the two champions: Pietro Zumerle and Jonathan Sicart.

The French winner of the GT4 category won an endurance kit to fit out his car while the Trofeo Maserati GranTurismo MC scooped the Alfa Romeo MiTo for Maserati on offer to the winner.
