Maserati Polo Tour

March 2015 - Saturday 23 May, in a spectacular polo arena directly on the beach of Sylt Island, Germany, will see the beginning of the “Julius Baer Beach Polo World Cup Sylt” the first of the international polo tournaments that make up the “Maserati Polo Tour”, organised by Maserati in partnership with La Martina, official supplier to the world’s most prestigious polo events.

This reconfirms the successful partnership between Maserati and La Martina that already boasts successful initiatives such as the co-branded capsule collections. This year Maserati’s presence in the polo world, which first began in 2012, will be further reinforced as the Modenese car manufacturer will be main sponsor of the best polo events in its most strategic markets, from China to Europe and the USA.

On occasion of the 2015 Tour, La Martina and Maserati will launch a new capsule collection designed by La Martina for Maserati inspired by the concept of the "Polo Player Kit".

Immediately after its German inauguration, the Maserati Polo Tour will continue in the UK with the celebrated “Maserati Jerudong Park Trophy”, which supports the charities of HRH The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry and will take place on 24 May in one of the oldest and most prestigious English polo clubs, the "Cirencester Park Polo Club", inaugurated in 1894.

From 3 to 6 September, Maserati will also then compete with its team in the “USPA Maserati Silver Cup” at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club, California, one of the oldest tournaments in North America, ranked in the top four USA polo tournaments.

Sunday, 6th September 2015 – The Silver Cup has reached new heights in the polo world; matching the world’s finest players with the Italian luxury automotive marque and its newly designed outerwear. Equally celebrated for its prestige, horsepower and sporting performance, polo is the perfect complement to the Maserati marque. As this year’s title sponsor, Maserati was the prominent marque on the playing field and among polo’s finest players at the 2015 USPA Maserati Silver Cup tournament.

Maserati kicked off the 2015 edition of its “Maserati Polo Tour” in partnership with international sports and leisure apparel brand La Martina this May at various venues across Europe, where the ‘Made in Italy’ car manufacturer is named title and team sponsor of the world’s most elite polo events.

Once again, the Trident joined forces with La Martina, the official supplier of the Maserati team and polo’s leading authority in sporting attire. To celebrate the world polo tour, the two brands collaborated to introduce a new sports and leisure capsule collection designed by La Martina, exclusively for Maserati which was on full display at this year’s world renowned sporting tournament. The active-wear collection is inspired by the “Polo Player Kit” as well as the players’ quintessential off-field style.

VIPs including actress Natasha Henstridge were on hand, joined by loyal spectators and polo enthusiasts. Alan Thicke also made an appearance Silver Cup weekend to honor the Maserati team and experience the thrill of Maserati in person.

The Maserati Team’s horsepower was on full display with dynamic plays by Steve Kreuger, Jesse Bray, Mike Azarro and Justin Klentner. The action-packed match was held at one of the US’s oldest and most prestigious tournaments, first established in 1974; at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club. At the conclusion of a thrilling and close match, the Farmers and Merchants Bank Team took home top honors.

      Sunday 24th May 2015 - Today, Royalty was joined by a number of special guests, including Amber Le Bon and Yasmin Mills at the British round of Maserati’s International Polo Tour. The action-packed match was held at one of Britain’s oldest and most prestigious venues; Cirencester Park Polo Club.

      The Maserati Jerudong Park Polo Trophy is one of series of events in the Italian brand’s global polo tour which has already seen thrilling action at the inaugural match of the series in Sylt Island, Germany.

      Maserati is embarking on the 2015 tour across Europe and USA with its global partner, La Martina, official supplier of the Maserati Team. To celebrate the tour, the two brands have launched a new capsule collection designed exclusively for Maserati by the premium polo clothing brand La Martina.

      Playing in the UK match on the iconic Ivy Lodge ground was a very special guest; Prince Harry playing in the BMG Team against the opposing Maserati Team, in which La Martina brand ambassador, The Marquis of Blandford George Spencer Churchill, played. Prince Harry took part in the game in aid of his chosen charities Centrepoint, Well Child and Map Action.

      In the end, it was the Maserati Team that secured a well-contested victory, with a final score of 8-7. Prince Harry was named ‘Most Valuable Player’ whilst the ‘Best Playing Pony’ accolade was awarded to polo player, Satnam Dhillon’s, pony named ‘Mellie’.

      At the distinguished event Maserati showcased an array of its ultra-luxurious models including the Ghibli sports executive saloon and flagship Quattroporte models.

      Having visited Germany and now the UK, the next international destination is the USA from 3rd to 6th September where Maserati will host the ‘USPA Maserati Silver Cup’ at Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club.

          Sunday, 24th May 2015 - Successful start for the Maserati Polo Tour 2015: This weekend “Julius Baer Beach Polo World Cup Sylt” showed polo at its finest and delighted up to 10,000 spectators on site – including many fans of the Polo Team Maserati (team handicap +2) with Marc Aberle (Germany, handicap -2) and Tim Ward (England, handicap +4).

          For two days, the five polo teams created good sports in favourable weather conditions at the Beach Polo Arena in Hoernum on the fashionable North Sea island of Sylt. Among the guests of the now well-established “Julius Baer Beach Polo World Cup Sylt” were also a number of VIP-personalities from business, politics and show business, including German celebrity Verona Pooth.
