Francesco Mandelli at CineCocktail
"Enough Soliti Idioti, with Biggio there'll be a film with new characters and maybe a song at Sanremo".
An explosive Francesco Mandelli opened CineCocktail 2013 on the Maserati Terrace. Having recalled his idol John Belushi in The Blues Brothers, prompted by reporter Claudia Catalli he reflected on how hard it is for young talent to emerge today: "If I tried to break into showbusiness today rather than in 1998, it would be impossible. In my time MTV broke new talent whereas now everyone appears on TV for a while but no-one really lasts".
He denied a break up with Fabrizio Biggio and revealed that a new film project is in the pipeline with him: "There will be a new project but it won't be a sequel to Soliti Idioti. This time there'll be new personalities dealing with the issues of today".
In the meantime, Mandelli will be starring alongside Christian de Sica in a Christmas classic by Neri Parenti and then comes "the surprise: a tour with musician Adam Green". One dream to be realised is taking part in Sanremo "this time in the competition with our own song".
The guests over the coming days will include Valeria Solarino and Marco Bocci, with the full programme to be announced shortly.
The 2013 CineCocktail events have been organised in collaboration with "Lorella Signorino Atelier", the new style project created from "Love, Sex, Money" .
